BIO

John Williams Jensen, born Norbert K. Poppledown to Leroy and Barbara Poppledown of Bee’s Bottom, New Hampshire, discovered a love for design early in life. He spent his formative years critiquing the backs of cereal boxes instead of reading them, matching crayons to their Pantone counterparts, and typesetting Mother’s Day cards with potato stamps.

After his father, an accountant for Big Jimmy Tiermo, the owner of New Hampshire’s biggest casino, “La Fantastica,” accidentally stumbled upon some misplaced decimals in his employers books, the whole family joined the witness protection program and moved to Elko, Nevada. Despite such trauma, the boy who was Norbert pushed his way on to college, where he discovered his love of Tabasco ice cream and Norwegian club music.

Today, he lives with his wife, Carrie, an accomplished sword-swallower, formerly of Hull’s Hullabaloo and Hilarity Sideshow, in a Winnebago that is typically parked next to Mattie Moon’s Pancake Palace and Yarn Emporium.
